Flaton Inflation Model
We propose an inflation model which is constructed by two “flatons”. In this model, one of flatons causes inflation. However, it is not the inflaton but the other flaton which generates density perturbations for structure formation. The spectral index of these perturbations n is controlled by the ratio of the mass squared of these flatons, Mχ/Mσ, and n ≃ 0.6− 0.98 for Mχ/Mσ ≃ 0.62 − 0.75. This ...
متن کاملThermal Pions and Isospin Chemical Potential Effects
The density corrections, in terms of the isospin chemical potential μI , to the mass of the pions are investigated in the framework of the SU(2) low energy effective chiral invariant lagrangian. As a function of temperature and μI = 0, the mass remains quite stable, starting to grow for very high values of T , confirming previous results. However, the dependence for a non-vanishing chemical pot...
متن کاملThermal inflation, baryogenesis and axions
In a previous paper, we proposed a simple extension of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model which gives rise to thermal inflation and baryogenesis in a natural and remarkably consistent way. In this paper, we consider the λφ = 0 special case of our model, which is the minimal way to incorporate a Peccei-Quinn symmetry. The axino/flatino becomes the lightest supersymmetric particle with mã ...
متن کاملMulti-field Inflation with a Random Potential
Motivated by the possibility of inflation in the cosmic landscape, which may be approximated by a complicated potential, we study the density perturbations in multi-field inflation with a random potential. The random potential causes the inflaton to undergo a Brownian motion with a drift in the D-dimensional field space, allowing the entropic perturbation modes to continuously and randomly feed...
متن کاملSome aspects of thermal inflation: The finite temperature potential and topological defects.
Currently favoured extensions of the Standard Model typically contain ‘flaton fields’ defined as fields with large vacuum expectation values (vevs) and almost flat potentials. If a flaton field is trapped at the origin in the early universe, one expects ‘thermal inflation’ to take place before it rolls away to the true vacuum, because the finite-temperature correction to the potential will hold...
